Morphing Classic Actresses and Modern CelebritiesThe classical age of cinema, from the 1930s to the late 1960s, is considered the most glamorous era in Hollywood's history. Famous actress encompassed style, elegance and beauty, and would never allow themselves to be seen at anything but their best. As film-maker Cecil B. de Mille put it, “Remember you're a star. Never go across the alley even to dump garbage unless you are dressed to the teeth.”
Today's celebrities, however, are no strangers to shame. From Lindsay Lohan's pantyless partying and drunken driving, to a bald Britney on an umbrella-induced rampage, we no longer hold celebrities as models of class. And then there's the issue of style: today's famous women are often criticized for copying the looks of past stars like Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn.
So, were the glory days really better? Can today's stars be, at best poor imitations, and at worst skanky hos (Lindsay Lohan)?
Well, there's only one way to find out: by morphing!
Audrey HepburnWikipedia Biography
Audrey Hepburn (May 4, 1929 – January 20, 1993) was an Academy Award-winning actress of film and theatre, Broadway stage performer, ballerina, fashion model, and humanitarian.
Raised under Nazi rule in Arnhem, Netherlands during World War II, Hepburn trained extensively to become a ballerina, before deciding to pursue acting. She first gained notice for her starring role in the Broadway production of Gigi (1951). She was then cast in Roman Holiday (1953) as Princess Ann, the role for which she won an Academy Award. She was one of the leading Hollywood actresses during the 1950s and 1960s and received four more Academy Award nominations, including one for her iconic performance as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961). In 1964, she played Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, the critically acclaimed film adaptation of the musical.
Audrey was the pioneer of the "pixie" look, which has been commandeered by many of today's actresses, including Winona Ryder, Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman.
So let's morph them with Audrey and see what we get!
Name: Audalie Hepbortman? Nadrey Portburn?
I have to say that I really like this one -- I think she looks better than either of them on their own.
You can really see the individual features of both Natalie and Audrey, and also see how their general appearance is similar.
Name: Keirey Knighburn? Audra Hepightley?
Oops, the hair on Audrey's face has made the top the face look kind of messy. This is why you should always follow the good image guide! (Rule 5: No hair in the face).
Ignoring that, I think this morph is ok. Keira's features seem to be more dominant that Audrey's, and she isn't as good a match as Natalie. I prefer each individually rather than the morphed picture.
Name: Winonaudrey Rydepburn? Audona Hepburyder?
This one is my favorite. Looking at it feels like a magic eye picture -- first I can only see Audrey and then suddenly I can see Winona.
When I look carefully, features of each person are slightly more dominant in the morph, but its hard to see. I really like the way that this shows how similar Audrey and Winona appear.

Grace Patricia Kelly (November 12, 1929 – September 14, 1982) was an Academy Award-winning American film actress who, upon marriage to Rainier III, Prince of Monaco in 1956, became Her Serene Highness The Princess of Monaco, but was generally known as Princess Grace of Monaco. Princess Grace maintained dual American and Monegasque citizenship after her marriage. The principality's current Sovereign Prince, Albert II is the son of Prince Rainier and Princess Grace.
We're going to morph Gwyneth Paltrow, Cate Blanchett and Cameron Diaz with Grace Kelly. They have all been compared to Grace, so this should be interesting.
Name: Graceth Kellytrow? Gwynece Pally?
This one impressed me. It reminds me of the Winona/Audrey morph above; there are features of both parent images present, but at the same time you can see there's a real similarity between Grace and Gwyneth.
Name: Grate Kellanchett? Gracate Blanchelly?
Ok, so Grace and Cate don't look that alike. But, I really like this morph. I think Cate's face comes through more yet the influence of Grace's features are still visible. They make a really good combination!
Name: Camerace Dially? Grameron Kellaz?
I'm unsure about this morph. I like the individual features on their own, and the general shape of the face, but I don't think they work well together.
Grace and Cameron should think twice about morphing in the future.
Here's a bonus morph, just because I like it. She looks like somebody I used to go to college with.
I like the way the facial features and hair came out, but I think the face is a bit wide at the jaw.

Marilyn Monroe (born Norma Jeane Mortenson on June 1, 1926 – August 5, 1962), was a Golden Globe Award-winning American actress, singer, model and pop icon. She was known for her comedic skills and screen presence, going on to become one of the most popular movie stars of the 1950s and early 1960s. At the later stages of her career, she worked towards serious roles with a measure of success. However, she faced disappointments in her career and personal life during her later years. Her death has been subject to speculation and conspiracy theories.
Let's see what Scarlett Johansson and Christina Aguilera look like when morphed with Mariyln.
Name: Scarilyn Johanroe? Marlett Mohansson?
Scarlett has been criticized for copying the "blonde bombshell" look made famous by Marilyn Monroe. As you can see in the morph, they do indeed have very similar looks.
I think that everything above the mouth in this morph looks better than either Scarlett or Marilyn on their own... but the mouth looks kind of ugly because Marilyn's mouth is open in her picture. (Rule 4 - shut your mouth!). Apart from that, I really like this morph.
Name: Marina Monroera? Christilyn Aguileroe?
I think this is a really good morph. I like the way that it's not as similar to Marilyn as the Scarlett morph, but it still retains elements of her. You can really see how Christina is influenced by the whole Marilyn Monroe image.
Both Christina and Marilyn seem to benefit from being morphed together -- I think the proportions of the features and the face shape are much better than in the original images.
Name: Marenee Monroeger? Renarilyn Zellwegeroe?
I was looking through the Marilyn Monroe morphs and I liked this one. Renee may not hold the same status as Marilyn did, but they sure make a good morph!
I feel that there's a good proportion of each face in the picture, making a well-balanced morph.

Well, we didn't really find out which era was best, but it was fun morphing the pictures together.
Which of the morphs looks best to you? Who else do you think would look good morphed with Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly or Marilyn Monroe? Which other stars from the past would you like to see morphed with today's celebrities?
